Becoming A Roll Model

Roll Model is what we call the adults that act as our coaches, officials, and in many other volunteers capacities! There are an assortment of requirements and requests depending on the role you’re most interested in. Coaches have to meet requirements supplied by JRDA (Junior Roller Derby Association), our insurance carrier WFTDi, and the policies set by our league.

New for the 2024 season, all coaches must sign an insurance waiver, complete SafeSport training, and a background verification through Sterling Volunteers.

All Roll Models working with RAJRD Skaters must complete a concussion training every 2 years, submit a background check to JRDA, and register as a volunteer with JRDA (this includes officials on skates and off, coaches, and several other roles).

RAJRD asks all Roll Models to agree to a Code of Conduct, complete a Photo/Video Release form, and recommends completing a contact and medical information form in case of emergencies. Providing this information is voluntary.
