On Saturday May 23, Rochester Area Junior Roller Derby will be hosting Level 1 and Level 2 Junior Roller Derby Players from leagues across the North Eastern US and Canada in a special format roller derby tournament.
The tournament will be held at Roc City Roller Derby’s House of Bruise (aka “the HOB”) 121 Lincoln Avenue, Rochester NY.
Arrive at 1PM to Sign in, pick up jerseys, make payments and confirm waivers are all set.

2PM (approximately) First Whistle
Each team will play the others at their level twice. The tournament will have 62 two-minute jams. To allow for officials and volunteers to appropriately track and record, we expect this will take 3.5 hours.
Awards ceremony will occur immediately after the last jam at approximately 5:30 PM
Each musically themed 5 piece group will have an opportunity to compete for the right to call themselves Rock and Roll legends!
The 5 Level 1 teams include: 99 Red Balloons, Yellow Submarine, Green River, Paint the Town Blue and Pretty Pink Ribbon
The 7 Level 2 teams include: Little Red Corvette, Orange Crush, Big Yellow Taxi, Green Light, Aquamarine, Blue Monday, and Purple Haze.

Wondering how groups reach the top of the charts? Each group will have two jams with each opposing group at their level.
During those jams, groups earn ranking points. The group that whose jammer is awarded lead as well as the group with a higher score at the end of 2 minutes earn a certain number of ranking points. In the event I of a tied score, ranking points are split between both groups.
Take warning, penalties count against a group’s standings, with negative points for each assessed penalty.
